SilverTowne Mint
SilverTowne Mint
There are 2 main types of mints, government mints and private mints. Private mints are owned and operated independently of a national government; thus they can only produce coinage for foreign governments. However, they do produce their own rounds, bars, and other precious metals products. Among the most popular private mints in America is SilverTowne which has been in business since 1949. SilverTowne Background
Leon Hendrickson opened SilverTowne, along with his wife, in rural Indiana. Before establishing SilverTowne, Hendrickson was an entrepreneur with many ventures under his belt. After partnering with his parents, he added a restaurant to his portfolio and soon became acquainted with coins from around the world, discovering an interest in coinage in the process.
Originally SilverTowne was a small coin shop and then a showroom for precious metals and numismatics. In 1973, Hendrickson expanded the shop’s services to include minting bullion products. This led to SilverTowne expanding further and creating larger facilities in 1985 due to its popularity. Nowadays, they are among the most popular private mints in all of America.
Silver Bars
SilverTowne creates several top-of-the-line silver bars. SilverTowne has many silver bar options, such as bars displaying the American flag, their Pony Bar Series of cast bars, and more.
Silver Rounds
SilverTowne is also home to many popular silver rounds. SilverTowne is known for its own unique series of rounds, but also for taking popular American coinage imagery and recreating them on .999 silver rounds.
Silver Bullets
At BGASC, we have an array of silver bullets available too. These replicas of actual ammunition rounds are created by SilverTowne and are available in many different sizes. Popular bullets such as the .45 caliber, 12 gauge, and more are available.
