BU Coins are arguably the most popular option, however, there are plenty of unique types of Silver Coins available here at BGASC. This includes the following:
- BU: Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coin has not been circulated and shows no signs of wear and tear.
- Colorized: A colorized lacquer is applied to give the coin color.
- Gilded: A thin layer of 24-karat gold is applied to give the silver coin a gold look.
- High-Relief: Blanks are struck multiple times to give the silver coin a more 3D look.
- Proof: Coins are struck at least twice, which gives them a mirrored look on the background with frosted design elements.
- Reverse Proof: Similar to proofs, except the design elements have a mirrored look while the background is frosted.
- Ultra High-Relief: A high-relief coin with more elevated images and a higher level of detail.
BU Coin Programs
Silver BU Coins are backed by a central government and typically have a face value, acting as legal tender. These BU Coin Programs are released annually. Some popular options are the following:
- American Silver Eagles: Arguably the most popular silver bullion coin in the world is the American Silver Eagle. These coins have been issued annually in a 1 oz weight since 1986 and are the official bullion coin of the United States of America. These coins are released in three variations, BU, proof, and burnished. The obverse has always featured Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty. From 1986 to the first half of 2021, John Mercanti’s heraldic eagle was displayed. Since then, the flying eagle design of Emily Damstra has been featured.
- British Silver Britannias: These silver coins are issued annually by the Royal Mint. Debuting in 1997, the obverse has always featured the effigy of the reigning British monarch – (Queen Elizabeth II 1997-2022, King Charles III 2023-present) and an image of Britannia on the reverse. Coins with an issue date of 2013 or later, have a purity of .999 pure silver, earlier releases will have a purity of .958 pure silver.

Coins have been issued annually since 1988 with coins
- Chinese Silver Pandas: Among the most unique silver coin collections on the market is the Chinese Silver Panda series. For starters, the reverse always features a unique image of a panda (except for 2001 and 2002.) These coins debuted in 1983 and were strictly proof strikes for 3 years. No coins were minted in 1986 and 1988. In 1989, silver coins in the series started to be in BU condition. These coins are issued annually in various gram-size weights.
