Types of Gold Bars

You’ll notice at BGASC that there are two main types of 50 Gram 24kt Gold Bullion Bars, minted ingots and cast.

  • Cast: Gold shot or ingots are placed into a mold that has a top and a bottom face. The mold is heated through induction technology. Once the gold is cooled it is removed and design elements are stamped to one side.
  • Minted Ingots: Blanks (a piece of metal that is in the shape of a bar) is loaded into a machine. The machine applied thousands of pounds of pressure to stamp design elements into it.

Argor Heraeus 50 Gram Gold Bars

One of the most popular gold bar producers is Argor Heraeus. This Switzerland-based company creates gold bars in an array of popular sizes. At BGASC, we have a few Argor Heraeus 50 Gram Gold Bar options.

Their minted ingots are made with .9999 pure gold and will arrive in sealed blisterpacks. Identifying marks are present on the obverse while the reverse is left blank. One popular option is the well-known Kinebar. These bars have the iconic Kinebar kinegram embossing on the reverse.

Their cast bars, while appear different, are pretty similar in terms of design. The identifying marks of the bar are on the obverse while the reverse is left blank.

PAMP Suisse Gold Bars

Similar to Argor Heraeus, PAMP Suisse has a minted ingot and cast 50 Gram option. Their cast bars have the identifying marks of the bar on the obverse, along with a unique serial number. The reverse is intentionally left blank. These bars are made with .9999 pure gold.

They also have a minted ingot with their Fortuna Veriscan series. These bars have the image of Fortuna on the obverse while the reverse features the identifying marks of the bar. Individual bars will arrive in blisterpacks, while you can also order containers of 25.

Valcambi Gold Bars

Valcambi is one of the most innovative names in the gold bar industry. Their most well-known product is their CombiBar. This 50 Gram gold bar can break off into 50 individual 1 gram gold bars. This allows you to break off however many pieces you like without sacrificing purity or weight.

Another option is their standard minted ingot. These have the identifying marks on the obverse, with the full company name on the reverse. These bars arrive in sealed blisterpacks and are made with .9999 pure gold.

Other Options
