Engelhard Gold Bars at BGASC

Engelhard was founded in New Jersey in 1902 and quickly became one of the top names in the world for precious metals. In 2006, German chemical manufacturer BASF acquired the refinery for $5 billion. While they’re not actively creating gold bars, many of their gold bars are still popular as secondary market items. A secondary market gold bar is one that BGASC acquired from someone other than the original creator. Learn more about Engelhard gold bars right here at BGASC.

Minted Ingots

At BGASC, you’ll find minted ingots from Engelhard. These minted ingots arrive in plastic bags and include assay cards. Each bar contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure gold.

Engelhard over the year created numerous minted ingots including many different designs. Therefore, we offer these minted ingots at random. When you purchase a 1 oz Engelhard Gold Bar, the exact obverse and reverse design of your bar will be chosen at random.

Cast Bars

Engelhard cast bars are far more common to find at BGASC than minted ingots. We carry cast bars that range in size from 2 oz to 1 kilogram. These bars will feature the Engelhard name, metal content, purity, and a unique serial number on the obverse, while the reverse is intentionally left blank. While modern gold bars have a purity of at least .999 gold, a lot of Engelhard gold bars have a purity such as .997 and .998.
