2024 Lunar Year of the Dragon at BGASC
2024 welcomes us to the Year of the Wood Dragon, an event that happens once every 60 years. The dragon is the 5th animal in the zodiac and notably, the only mythical creature in the entire zodiac. Silver Coins
- Perth Mint Lunar Series: At BGASC, we have an array of Perth Mint Silver Lunar Coins for the Year of the Dragon. These coins are available in several sizes and are available as BU strikes, proof strikes, or colorized coins.
- Pitcairn Islands Lunar Year of the Dragon Coins: These coins are available in numerous sizes from 1/4 Troy oz to 1 kilogram. Coins are available in BU, proof, and proof colorized strikes.
- Samoa Year of the Dragon Coins: Available in different sizes and strikes, these coins are minted at the Scottsdale Mint. The Samoan coat of arms is on the obverse while a flying dragon is on the reverse.
- Rwandan Lunar Dragon: Coins are available as a 1 oz BU strike and a 1 oz proof strike. The Rwandan coat of arms is on the obverse while a dragon flying is on the reverse.
Silver Bars
- 10 oz Year of the Dragon Silver Bar: Minted by SilverTowne, these bars are made from .999 pure silver. The obverse shows a stunning dragon design while the reverse shows a common design for lunar-themed bars from SilverTowne.
- 100 Gram Scottsdale Silver Dragon Bar: This cast silver bar was produced by the Scottsdale Mint and contains 3.215 Troy oz of .999 pure silver. The obverse shows a dragon design while the reverse is intentionally left blank.
Gold Coins
- Perth Mint Lunar Series: the most popular lunar-themed series on the market is the Lunar Series from the Perth Mint. This series debuted in 1996 and has issued new coins every year since. These coins are available in several unique sizes and bear the “P125” mint mark for the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. While 2024 coins from the Perth Mint showcase King Charles III on the obverse, these coins still show Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
- Royal Mint Lunar Coins: Struck as proof coins, at BGASC we have a 1 Troy oz option and a 1/4 Troy oz coin available. These coins have the effigy of King Charles III on the obverse with a dragon flying over a river on the reverse.
- Proof Mongolia Gold Lunar Dragon Coin: These proof strikes are struck by CIT and have a limited mintage of 5,000. These coins have 1/2 gram of .9999 pure gold and show the Bank of Mongolia emblem on the obverse with a dragon in left-profile relief on the reverse.

- Argor Heraeus Gold Bars: These minted ingots come in sizes ranging from 1 gram to 1 Troy oz. Bars arrive in sealed blisterpacks with an assay card. Bars have the image of a dragon on the obverse with identifying marks of the bar on the reverse.
- PAMP Suisse Gold Bars: These bars come in sizes ranging from 5 grams to 1 Troy oz. Bars arrive in sealed blisterpacks with assay cards and are made from .9999 pure gold. The obverse shows the lunar cycle while a dragon is on the reverse.
- Perth Mint Gold Bars: Available in a 1 Troy oz size, these bars have a limited mintage of 30,000. Bars are made with .9999 pure gold and feature the dragon on the obverse with identifying marks of the bar on the reverse.
Notes
- 100 Milligram Lunar Year of the Dragon Gold Note: These notes contain 100 milligrams of .999 pure gold. Designed by Jake Sepulveda, these notes show the same design on the obverse and the reverse of a dragon flying in left-profile relief.
- $2 Dancing Dragon Legal Tender Note: Created by the Merrick Mint, these notes have a mintage of just 8,888. The obverse shows a dancing dragon design whereas the reverse has a rendition of the Declaration of Independence.
- Polychrome/ Golden Hologram Legal Tender Note: Also created by the Merrick Mint, these notes show unique dragon designs with Thomas Jefferson on the obverse. Each note has the lucky 88 in its serial number.
