One of the most sought-after programs worldwide is the Chinese Panda Series, introduced in gold in 1982. This collection offers five gold weights and one silver weight, featuring a new depiction of the Giant Panda species on the coins each year. The Chinese Panda Series holds the distinction of being the longest-running collection with changing design elements.

2024 Options

The 2024 release maintains the familiar weights introduced since 2016. Originally launched in 1982, the gold collection included 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold. In 1983, a 1/20 oz gold coin was added, and the first-ever silver coin was struck, though consistency in silver coin production began in 1989 with the release of the first 1 oz .999 pure silver coin.

Since 2016, the Chinese Mint adopted a new unit of measurement, producing these coins as 30-gram gold and silver coins, along with 15-gram, 8-gram, 3-gram, and 1-gram gold coins.

New 2024 Panda Design

True to tradition, the 2024 series features a fresh depiction of the Giant Panda on both gold and silver coins. The design showcases a mother panda with its young cub seated side-by-side, with the mother extending an arm and paw around the back of the young cub.
