Obverse
The obverse of 2025 10 oz Silver Kookaburra Coins includes the effigy of King Charles III. Designed by Dan Thorne, this left-profile portrait is the first of Charles III to appear on Australian coins and portrays the king without a crown.
Reverse
On the reverse, youll find two designs honoring the kookaburra. The primary design shows the bird perched on a tree branch in left-profile relief. In the lower left of the field, there is a small privy circle containing the original 1990 kookaburra design to commemorate the series 35th anniversary.
History
The kookaburra is known for its unique plumage. Its cream-white underside contrasts with its brown wings and back, while a dark stripe runs through its eye. Males and females are similar in appearance, but females tend to be larger and often display more prominent reddish-brown tones on their tails.
