This round is the last design in the Valkyries Series, and features a common reverse design shared by the other coins in the series.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2025 Germania Valkyries Arnhild Silver Round features a depiction of Arnhild, one of Odins daughters. Known for her skill as an archer, she is shown holding a bow with a quiver of arrows, while an eagle rests by her side. Arnhild is dressed in leather armor with a hooded cloak, and her belt includes the Ingwaz rune, a symbol of life and protection.

Reverse

On the reverse, you will find the series’ standard design of a wooden shield with the Germania Mint seal on the right and an eagle on the left. The eagle represents Arnhild’s strength, courage, and wisdom.

History

In Norse sagas, Valkyries were depicted not just as warriors who chose the dead, but as powerful figures who could alter the course of battles. Often, they were shown as both beautiful and terrifying. Some Valkyries were believed to transform into swan maidens and wield supernatural abilities that influenced the outcomes of conflicts.
