The 2024 Reverse Proof Canadian Gold 45th Anniversary Gold Maple Leaf 4-Coin Set is truly special. You’ll get four Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins, in sizes 1 oz, 1/4 oz, 1/10 oz, and 1/20 oz. All of them come in a neat red box from the Royal Canadian Mint. These coins are made with reverse-proof craftsmanship, which means their designs are shiny against a frosted background.
Obverse
On the front of each 2024 Reverse Proof Canadian Gold Maple Leaf in this set, you’ll see a young-looking Queen Elizabeth II. She’s wearing a tiara called the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. An artist named Arnold Machin made this picture in 1965, and it’s the second image of the Queen used during her time as queen. Fun fact it’s the last British-made picture of Queen Elizabeth II on Canadian coins.
Reverse
The back of the 2024 Reverse Proof Gold Maple Leafs has a cool design with two maple leaves connected by a stem. The 1 oz coin in this set has a teardrop-shaped sapphire on it. And don’t forget to notice the years 1979 and 2024 on the back.
History
When the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf started in 1979, it was only available as a 1 oz coin made of .999 gold. At that time, the South African Gold Krugerrand Coin was the main competitor. This set features the original image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front.
