Obverse

The obverse of the 2024 Somalia Silver African Wildlife Leopard shows the Somali coat of arms. This design, found on all coins in the African Wildlife Series, includes a crowned shield with horizontal lines and a star in the center.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2024 1 oz Silver African Wildlife Leopards, there is an image of two leopards. An adult leopard sits next to its cub on a rocky ledge. The gilded element highlights this side with a thin layer of 24-karat gold on the adult and cub.

History

African leopards are solitary animals, with individuals usually occupying their own territory. They mark their territory with scent markings, scratches, and vocalizations. They are primarily nocturnal, hunting and being most active during the night, although they can also be active during the early morning and late afternoon.
