By the 18th century, the Mosopelea population had diminished due to conflict, illness, and migration. Many of the remaining members eventually joined the Tunica and Biloxi tribes in Louisiana. Today, the descendants of the Mosopelea are part of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana, who continue to honor their heritage.
