History

Although leopards can be active at any time, they are predominantly nocturnal hunters in most African habitats. This behavior helps them avoid competition with other large predators like lions and hyenas, which are more active during the day. Their excellent night vision, acute hearing, and stealthy movements make them formidable nighttime predators.
