History

Red kangaroos are social animals and live in groups called mobs, which can range in size from a few individuals to more than 100. Mobs are usually made up of females and their young, along with a few dominant males. The males compete for access to females during the breeding season by standing on their hind legs and boxing with each other. Red kangaroos are also known for their ability to conserve water, which is essential in their arid environment. They can go for long periods of time without drinking, obtaining most of their water from the vegetation they eat.
