Obverse

Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of 2023 Australian Silver Kookaburra Coins. This is Her Majestys final appearance on the coins in this 2015 depiction captures the record-breaking monarch in right-profile relief with the George IV State Diadem.

Reverse

Kookaburras are shown in the reverse design of the 2023 10 oz Silver Kookaburra Coin. This design element features two native elements from the Australian continent. The kookaburras in this design are native to the Australian continent, but so too is the waratah bush in which the birds are perched.

History

In 1992, the Perth Mint introduced 2 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilo silver coins into its Australian Silver Kookaburra Series. The collection offered 1 oz, 2 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilo coins from 1992 to 2009. Starting in 2010, the series was trimmed to just 1 oz, 10 oz, and 1 Kilo coins.
