Obverse

In the obverse design of the 2023 Austrian Silver Philharmonic, the mint features the Great Pipe Organ. This design shows the massive organ from within the Musikverein. The organ is the third of its kind installed in the hall and was put in place in the first decade of the 20^th century.

Reverse

For the reverse field of 2023 1 oz Silver Philharmonics, the Austrian Mint offers a glimpse of eight musical instruments. This design includes a cello in the middle of the field with two violins on either side. A bassoon, a harp, and a horn feature in the background behind the cello and violins.

History

Austrian Silver Philharmonic coins debuted in 2008 in this series, nearly two decades after the program launched with the introduction of Austrian Gold Philharmonics. The series more recently expanded in 2016 with the release of the first-ever Austrian Platinum Philharmonic.
