Each 2021 1 oz Australian Silver Swan Coin arrives in a protective plastic flip. As the fifth release in the series, this coin has a limited mintage of just 25,000. Additionally, this edition includes a special P5 mint mark, replacing the standard Perth Mint P mint mark to commemorate five years of the Silver Swan series.

Obverse

The obverse of the 2021 Silver Swan showcases Queen Elizabeth IIs portrait. This right-profile relief was designed by Jody Clark and serves as the sixth-generation effigy of the Queen on Australian coinage. It presents Her Majesty at 89 years old wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown.

Reverse

On the reverse, the coin features a beautifully detailed swan, an important symbol for both Australia and the Perth Mint. Black swans are native to the continent and can be seen in its lakes and wetlands. The Perth Mints logo also incorporates a stylized swan. This design captures the birds elegant movement as it glides across the water, with its long neck curving downward toward the rippling surface.

History

Black swans are known for their strong monogamous bonds and graceful presence. These birds pair for life and remain together through multiple breeding seasons. Their striking appearance and serene movements make them a defining feature of Australias natural landscapes.
