These American Gold Eagle coins are made of a durable composition of 22 karat gold, consisting of 91.67% gold, 3% silver, and 5.33% copper. The 1 oz Gold Eagle is the largest of the four coins, with each coin weight decreasing in size. Each 2006 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin offered here comes in a protective plastic flip.

Obverse

On the obverse of 2006 American Gold Eagles, the full-length figure of Lady Liberty, originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, appears to walk right off the coin. Her outstretched hand carries a torch, and she holds an olive branch in her left hand, with flowing hair in the breeze. A depiction of the Capitol building is near the bottom edge.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 2006 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin features an eagle family symbolizing the importance of family in America, designed by Miley Busiek and sculpted by Sherl J. Winter.
