Design

The obverse of the 2 oz Map of the United States Silver Stacker proudly displays the distinctive outline of the continental United States, stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific. History

Following the annexation of Texas in 1845, tensions between the United States and Mexico escalated, resulting in the Mexican-American War (1846-1848). The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended the war, ceded vast territories to the United States, including present-day California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming. Enacted in 1862, the Homestead Act encouraged Western migration by granting settlers 160 acres of land for a small fee, provided they lived on the land and improved it for a specified period.
