History

Frigg is the mother of Baldr, one of the most beloved gods in Norse mythology. Her attempts to protect him from harm play a significant role in the myth of Baldr’s death. She is associated with the constellation we now call Orion’s Belt. In Old Norse, this constellation was known as “Frigg’s Distaff” (Friggjar rockr), reflecting her connection to spinning and weaving.
