Design

On the obverse side of the 2.5 oz Perth Mint Cast Gold Bar, the rectangular field showcases markings at the top and bottom of the portrait field. History

Initially, the primary purpose was to refine gold from the eastern goldfields and turn it into sovereigns for use in the British Empire. In 1970, the Perth Mint became financially independent of the British Royal Mint, and ownership was transferred to the Government of Western Australia. This move allowed the mint to operate more freely and expand its operations.
