History

The New Orleans Mint issued more than 91 million Morgan Silver Dollars from 1880 to 1889. The volume produced at New Orleans grew year-over-year almost every year, with demand following a general upward trend throughout the decade. The highest mintage came in 1888 when New Orleans struck some 12.150 million Morgan Dollars.
