The obverse of The Royal Mint Queens Beast Collection Silver Bar features artwork from Jody Clark. In the center is Mary Gillicks 1952 portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was the first used on coinage. Surrounding the Queen are the ten beasts from the series: Lion of England, Griffin of Edward III, Falcon of the Plantagenets, Black Bull of Clarence, Yale of Beaufort, White Lion of Mortimer, White Greyhound of Richmond, Red Dragon of Wales, Unicorn of Scotland, and White Horse of Hanover.

Reverse

The reverse of the 1 oz Queens Beast Collection Silver Bar features a guilloche pattern that adds texture to the design. Centered on this side is the official emblem of The Royal Mint. Other markings on the bar include details about the silvers weight and purity.

History

When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in 1953, ten statues were placed outside Westminster Abbey as part of the ceremony. These figures were designed to represent her ancestry, with each one rooted in British heraldic history. Collectively, they became known as the Queens Beasts.
