Obverse

The obverse of these silver rounds features the classic Buffalo Nickel design. The Native American right-hand profile is highly detailed and symbolic of America. The obverse also features one inscription of the word Liberty on its upper right side.

Reverse

The reverse of these silver rounds features the highly symbolic American Bison. The left-sided profile of the bison is featured along with inscriptions of the rounds weight, purity, and metal content along its upper edge. The MintMark security feature is also present in the middle of the reverse, partially blocking the bisons abdomen.

History

The history of the Buffalo Nickel design goes back quite a ways. The design was produced by the U.S. Mint on nickels from 1913 to 1938. Designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser, the design has been utilized on a variety of coin and round series since it was first introduced.
