Initially issued with a $5 (AUD) face value in 1990 and 1991, the 1 oz Australian Silver Kookaburra coins transitioned to a $1 (AUD) face value from the 1992 date marks onwards. Initially, these coins were issued with .999 pure silver. In 2018, the series transitioned to a higher .9999 pure silver purity.
