The 1 oz Asahi Silver Bars are minted ingots, with highly refined designs and finishing aspects. Unlike poured loaf bars, these minted bars are precisely weighed and cut by machines, ensuring exact weight and purity content. Minted ingot production allows for excellent design elements, including crisp lines, raised edges, and a brilliant finish on each bar.

Designs

On the obverse, the Asahi Metals logo sits atop the design field, with engravings of the mint’s name, metal content, purity, and weight arranged vertically beneath. The reverse side displays the Asahi Metals logo in a repeating angled pattern across the bar’s surface.

History

Asahi Refining and Assayers of Tokyo acquired former Johnson Matthey refining facilities in North America after purchasing the company’s gold and silver refining business in late 2014. As such, many early Asahi products bear resemblance to Johnson Matthey’s familiar designs. For over six decades since its 1952 founding, Asahi built its reputation as a precious metals recycler, collecting silver and other metals from industrial and manufacturing operations.
