History

December 2013 was a momentous month in the country of Uruguay. Following passage in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, President Jose Mujica signed a bill into law that lifted cannabis restrictions in Uruguay. As of 2017, registered Uruguayan residents can legally purchase cannabis at pharmacies, grow it at home, or obtain it through cannabis clubs.
