Proposed in 2010, the coin made its debut in 2017 with the release of the first 1 oz Palladium Eagle. Like its series counterparts, it features the iconic Liberty design and the American bald eagle. Obverse
On the obverse of the American Palladium Eagle is Winged Liberty, a design by Adolph A. Weinman introduced in 1916. This left-profile depiction shows Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. Originally seen on the US Dime, this design earned the nickname Mercury Dime due to Libertys resemblance to the Roman god Mercury.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Palladium Eagle Coin features an American bald eagle, also designed by Weinman. This design was first used in 1907 on the American Institute of Architects gold medal and shows a bald eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a laurel branch.

The American Palladium Eagle is only available in 1 oz of .9995 palladium. The series includes various types such as BU coins from 2017 and 2021, Proof coins from 2018 and 2021, Reverse Proof coins from 2019 and 2022, and a Burnished Coin from 2020.
