Once an official announcement had been made that the US Department of the Treasury was going to sell a majority of its national stockpile of gold to the general public, a commemorative art medal collection has been created by the US Mint. The Members of Congress pushed for this sacred collection to celebrate the binary release of the national treasure. Today, BGASC is excited to present to you the 1/2 oz US Mint Commemorative Arts Gold Medal from any random year of issue!

All of the 1/2 oz US Mint Commemorative Arts Gold Medal will be delivered in protective, plastic flips from BGASC. In 1978, the national stockpile of gold had been set to be released, and to promote American gold in the era of rising demand for other foreign gold bullion products, the members of congress pushed to have an honorary collection be created and released. The medals were not considered coins and had no face value, with each one featuring 1/2 Troy oz of .900 pure gold.

Obverse

The obverse face of the 1/2 oz US Mint Commemorative Arts Gold Medals will depict a bust of one of five different American artists. They are all influential Americans who have impacted different genres of national culture. They might include certain figures like Willa Cather, architect Frank Lloyd Wright, sculptor Alexander Calder, and author John Steinbeck.

Reverse

The reverse face of the 1/2 oz US Mint Commemorative Arts Gold Medal includes different designs reflecting the artist featured on the obverse.
