Each 1/2 Florida Goldback Gold Note Pack contains 100 notes bundled securely with a black strap. Crafted with 24-karat gold, these notes are encased between two durable polymer layers, ensuring their flexibility and longevity. The Florida Goldback Series introduces the 1/2 Goldback denomination, along with the new 2 and 100 Goldback notes.

Design

The artwork on the 1/2 Florida Goldback highlights Floridas early history. The design features a young woman dressed in traditional Spanish Conquistador armor kneeling near the legendary Fountain of Youth. The water she holds symbolizes exploration and discovery.

History

Juan Ponce de Lens 1513 expedition to Florida is often linked to the myth of the Fountain of Youth. His arrival marked the beginning of a tragic period for Florida’s indigenous peoples. The native population, estimated at several hundred thousand in 1513, would be devastated by disease, warfare, and displacement over the following centuries, leading to the near-complete disappearance of many of Florida’s original cultures.
