Golden State Mint
Golden State Mint
The Golden State Mint (GSM) is one of the most popular and recognizable private mints in America. Founded in 1974 by Jim Pavlakos, the GSM is now run by his son, Andrew. With locations in both Central Florida and Southern California, they have reach from coast to coast and provide consumers with top-of-the-line copper, silver, and gold bars and rounds. Silver Rounds
When browsing our collection of GSM products, you’ll find that we have plenty of their silver rounds in stock. One thing that the GSM is known for, as is SilverTowne and Sunshine Minting, is creating silver rounds using popular American coin designs.
For example, their Buffalo Silver Round shows the designs from James Earle Fraser’s Buffalo Nickel. The Walking Liberty Silver Round shows the image of Lady Liberty from the Walking Liberty Half Dollar and the American Silver Eagle.
The GSM also creates its own unique silver round designs and collections. Popular options include the following:
- GSM Eagle
- Silver Shield Collection
- Lunar Rounds
Silver Bars
The GSM also creates high-quality silver bars. Their standard minted ingots are available in sizes ranging from 1 oz to 10 oz. These minted ingots show identifying marks of the bar on the obverse and a repeating pattern of the mint’s name on the reverse.
The GSM also offers a unique Aztec Calendar silver bar in several unique sizes. These bars feature the Aztec Sun Stone (created between 1502 and 1520) on one side and a left-profile portrait of Cuauhtemoc on the other side.
Copper Rounds
At BGASC, we also carry several unique copper rounds from the popular private American mint. The same can be said for copper rounds as their silver rounds. The GSM recreates popular American coin images on their copper rounds, yet also have their own unique designs and collections.
Copper rounds come in several sizes and are all made with .999 pure copper.
