About Geiger Edemetalle
Geiger can be traced back to 1218 when its founders helped establish the first German silver trade house, near Leipzig, Germany. They are currently the oldest silver trading house still operating in the country.
Their corporate headquarters are located at the Schloss Guldengossa, which was built in 1720 and can be seen on their line of square bars. They also have locations in Southern Germany and Switzerland.
Geiger is one of the 140+ members of the LBMA – founded by the Bank of England to set standards on international gold and silver trade.
Square Bars
The most well-known product from Geiger is their line of square bars. These bars are available in both silver and gold and range in size from 1 gram to as much as 5,000 grams. Bullion bars show the Schloss Guldengossa on the obverse and a repeating rhombus pattern on the reverse. The reverse of each bar has a unique security feature where one rhombus will be visible under a blacklight – which shows the bar’s serial number.
Security Line Bars
These .999 silver bars are available in sizes from 10 oz to 100 oz. These bars come with several unique security features such as the following: pearl finish on the obverse, textured reverse, ribbed edge, serial number at the bottom, and a UV application on the reverse that is viewable under a blacklight.
Noah’s Ark Coin Program
Issued by Armenia, Geiger has been minting Noah’s Ark Coins since the series debuted in 2011. This series releases coins annually, made from either .999 silver or .9999 gold. Silver coins are available in sizes from 1/4 oz to 5 kilograms, while gold coins are available in sizes from 1 gram to 1 oz.
The obverse of these coins showcases the Armenian coat of arms, while the reverse side shows Noah’s Ark with a dove in the foreground and Mount Ararat in the background. The reverse was designed by Eduard Kurghinyan.
