Engelhard
Engelhard
Charles Engelhard founded Engelhard back in 1902 in Newark, New Jersey. While they became a top name in the precious metals world, they also were credited with the production of the first catalytic converter. However, in 2006, they were purchased by BASF, a German chemical manufacturer, for $5 billion. That being said, Engelhard products are still popular on the market due to their reputable name. Secondary Market
You’ll notice that our assortment of Engelhard products is listed as “secondary market” items. This indicates that these products were given to us by a party other than the original mint. Seeing as Engelhard was bought out in 2006, it should come as no surprise that a majority of our Engelhard items are from the secondary market.
Minted Ingots
We have a handful of Engelhard minted ingots at BGASC. Available in silver and gold, these bars feature the mint logo, metal content, purity, and a serial number on the obverse. The reverse will show a repeating pattern of the mint’s name.
Cast/ Poured Bars
The majority of our Engelhard bars are cast bars or poured bars. There are many options to choose from as each bar has subtle differences that add to its rarity. Some feature the scarcely used “Bull Logo” while others will have stark differences in the first part of their serial numbers. We even have silver bar options from Colonial Refining Inc.
