Each 2025 1/4 oz Proof Australian Gold Kangaroo Coin comes in packaging designed by the Perth Mint. The coins are presented in a black display box with the mints signature swan logo on the lid. The presentation box is shipped inside a Kangaroo-themed case and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin includes the effigy of King Charles III, designed by Dan Thorne. This left-profile portrait is the first depiction of Charles III on Australian coins following his ascension to the throne. The King is shown without a crown in this simple and respectful design.

Reverse

On the reverse, two kangaroos are depicted in their natural habitat. One is shown lounging in the foreground to conserve energy during the heat of the day, while the other is captured mid-hop in the distance. This beautiful artwork was created by Neil Hollis.

History

Kangaroos are among the most adaptable animals in Australia, with strong legs that allow them to travel great distances quickly and efficiently. They are capable of leaping 8 meters in one bound and can reach speeds of up to 65 kilometers per hour, making them well-suited to Australias demanding environment.
