The Type II version of this coin includes the national motto above the eagle.
History
The San Francisco Mint struck 2.812 million $10 Liberty Gold Eagles in 1901, a significant production increase compared to the previous years 81,000 coins. This made San Francisco the largest producer of these coins in 1901.
