The obverse design of the 2025 Lunar Snake Coin marks the debut of King Charles III in this series. Previously, Lunar Series coins featured Queen Elizabeth II. This new design, created by Dan Thorne, depicts King Charles III in a left-profile relief.
Reverse
The reverse side of the 2025 1 oz Silver Lunar Snakes features a coiled snake set against a jungle backdrop. The scene includes a winding river and distant mountains, with the snake prominently positioned beneath overhanging foliage.
History
In 2025, we celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake. In Chinese astrology, the Wood Snake integrates the snakes traits with the Wood element from the Five Elements system (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water). This system provides additional layers of significance to the zodiac animal of the year.
