Obverse
On the obverse of the 2025 Gold Eagle, youll find the classic image of Lady Liberty, designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. This design portrays Liberty standing with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, framed by stars, sunrays, and the U.S. Capitol in the background.
Reverse
The reverse of the 2025 1 oz Gold Eagle features a new design from July 2021 by Jennie Norris. It depicts the bald eagles head in left-profile relief, capturing impressive detail in its gaze and feathers.
History
Each year, the United States Mint produces two major gold bullion coins. The Gold Eagle, which has been around longer, is made from 22-karat gold. In contrast, the newer Gold Buffalo coin is crafted from 24-karat gold. Gold Eagles have a composition of 91.67% gold, 5.33% copper, and 3% silver.
