Obverse

On the obverse of the 1882-CC Morgan Dollar Coin, Lady Liberty is captured in left-profile relief wearing her distinctive Phrygian cap and coronet crown. George T. Morgan’s artistry is on full display. Inscriptions read E PLURIBUS UNUM, LIBERTY, and 1882.

Reverse

The reverse of the 1882-CC Silver Dollar Coin features his iconic heraldic eagle grasping arrows and an olive branch, surrounded by emblematic laurels. Inscriptions read ONE DOLLAR, IN GOD WE TRUST, CC, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

History

Of the five mints to issue Morgan dollars, Carson City’s short-lived branch is undoubtedly the rarest. The mint struck these coins sporadically between 1878 and 1893. A total of 13.7 million Morgans in total were produced at the Carson City Mint, making their total the lowest of the 5.
