The 1 oz American Platinum Eagle Coin uses designs not seen on any other American coinage. Each and every coin is wrapped individually in a protective plastic flip. Lots of 20 are packaged in an acrylic tube and lots of 100 are packed in monster boxes.
Obverse
The obverse of these coins features the head of the Statue of Liberty. This vision of Lady Liberty was created in 1997 by John Mercanti. The beautiful visualization of the American spirit is highly detailed yet simple by design. The obverse also features inscriptions of the mint year, E Pluribus Unum and In God We Trust. Liberty is also stamped along the top, outer edge.
Reverse
The reverse of the platinum coin features the iconic bald eagle in flight. The large bird has wings fully spread and the rays of the sun at its back. The reverse also has the coins weight, purity, and metal content as well as its face value and United States Of America engraved on it.
