Obverse

Reverse
The reverse face of 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagles features the American bald eagle family design by Miley Busiek, introduced in 1986. This image showcases a female eagle in the nest with a male eagle soaring overhead.
History
The Proof American Gold Eagle Coins, with their unique history, were introduced at various mints. The 1 oz coin has been struck at the West Point Mint since 1986, while the 1/4 oz coins, introduced in 1988, were initially struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Coins in this product listing may feature either P mint marks from the Philadelphia Mint or W mint marks from the West Point Mint. The coins issued from 1988 to 1993 have the P mint mark, and those from 1994 onward have the W mint mark. Please note that we cannot guarantee the date mark on your coin and may send multiples of the same date mark based upon availability.
