It is a common image that constantly features on this side of the coin. It depicts a woman walking away from the sun while holding an olive branch in a flowing dress. Inscriptions read LIBERTY, 2016, and IN GOD WE TRUST.
Reverse
The reverse face of the 2016 1 oz American Silver Eagle Coin features a heraldic Eagle created by John Mercanti. It depicts an eagle standing behind a shield with the American flag. The eagle holds a banner in between the beak. The inscriptions here include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ FINE SILVER, and ONE DOLLAR.
