2024 Australian Silver Kangaroos at BGASC

The Australian Silver Kangaroo series was the first annual BU coin program from the Perth Mint to have a purity of .9999 pure silver. Unlike other Perth Mint coin programs, this series features the same design on every new issue. This series debuted in 1993 as a proof strike. Major Design Change

For the 2024 release, the obverse field underwent a major change. This series, similar to other Perth Mint releases, features the effigy of the reigning British monarch on the obverse. For the 2024 release of this series, the usual effigy of Queen Elizabeth II was updated to that of King Charles III.

Designed by Dan Thorne, this portrait features King Charles III in left-profile relief, without a crown. Identifying marks, such as the country, king’s name, and face value, surround the design.

The reverse field of the red kangaroo in left-profile relief, has remained unchanged. These coins do bear the unique P125 mint mark indicating the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint.

2024 Releases

At BGASC, we have two unique variations of the Australian Silver Kangaroo available, a BU strike and a proof option.

• 1 oz BU: The BU coin in the series is available in protective plastic flips, tubes of 25 coins, or Monster Boxes of 250.
• 1 oz Proof: The proof strike in the series is available in a display box, along with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Perth Mint. These coins are proof strikes and have a limited mintage of just 7,500.
