Design of the Credit Suisse 24kt Gold Bullion Bars

Regardless of whether the bar is a minted ingot or a cast bar, the obverse design elements are going to be largely the same. From top to bottom, the Credit Suisse logo, metal content, purity, an assay mark, and a serial number will be shown.

On the cast bars, the reverse side is left blank. For minted ingots, the reverse side consists of a repeating pattern of the Credit Suisse logo.

Types of Bars Available

As mentioned above, Credit Suisse has two main types of gold bars at BGASC:

  • Minted Ingot: Minted ingots start off as blanks. A blank is a piece of metal in the shape of a bar, with no design elements. Blanks are then loaded into a machine that stamps design elements onto the bar using thousands of pounds of pressure.
  • Cast Bar: Cast bars represent the earliest gold bars made by human civilizations. Gold shot or ingots are placed in a mold with a top and bottom face. The mold is then heated through induction technology. Once cooled, the bar is removed and design elements are stamped onto one side.
